School continues

Second week of school is almost finished. For Gracie, it is. She has had an interesting go of it this year, and her week ended early with her christening her classrooms new carpet. The thought, of course, makes us all gag. (You should have seen the photo I was going to enclose)

Katie-Anne and Evan are going to Mommy's Day Out on Tuesday and Friday. They have convinced everyone that it is Pre-K, so therefore, we shall call it Pre-K. Here is Katie-Anne on her first day.

She was getting her lunch...and if you look closely, she probably was going to take the Cabernet as well. (If you spend any time with Katie, you would know she knew it was there for the taking)

Evan was not quite ready, and was rather enjoying his breakfast. You can decide if the picture is sideways or Evan is...My vote has been cast.

We also have had to experience the joys (and woes) of home ownership. The air conditioner, the dishwasher, the dryer...everything, including the kitchen sink. Literally, we just had to finish the kitchen sink. My new hero is Handy Manny...si, Nosotros lo podemos hacer, si podemos.

Phillipe, Turner and the rest of the tools all lent a hand to fix our broken faucet and, I hope, the flooding we had. We hope that this is the end of the home fix-it for a while.

Beyond that it is Labor Day. This is the week that Ruidoso goes from a cozy mountain town of almost 10,000 full of locals to a city of 40,000 full of locos. It looks something like that, although I think a few may recognize that photo from some other time in some other place.

And, lastly...let's hear it for gas under $3.91 a gallon. It is about time that my Fruit Loops cost MORE than my gas. Now the children of the world can again enjoy the taste of cereal with milk, the taste of Ben with Jerry, the taste of Peanut Butter with Jelly...okay, you get the point.
