Happy 2011

Happy New Year...
It seems like just yesterday it was 2010...and just yesterday we blogged...one of those is much more accurate than the other, and sadly we have not been able to blog in a few months - give or take 12.
So, with that...we welcome you all to another year and another installment of the Garelick Gang Blog.
For those that have recieved the yearly letter - ditto. For those that we either do not have an address for, did not have enough stamps to mail you one, or you just dont seem to rate (just kidding)here is a brief synopsis.
We are in Tucson. The kids are busy. We have been running from gymnastics (Katie-Anne and Gracie)to soccer (Evan, and occassionally a girl or two) to Girl Scouts to a multitude of other child friendly (and parents must drive to) events.
Amy and I are coaching. We have a U-16 girls team in TSA - not the fondlers that greet you at the airport, but rather Tucson Soccer Academy. This has been a lot of fun, reminded us a lot about our love and passion for coaching and has allowed an escape for us both. If all goes well the team will have us traveling around the US for the next few years.
Of course, that was everything in one paragraph but the year certainly did not go by that quickly. The kids are growing like (not medicinal) weeds, and are now 9, 6 and 5 years old. That makes us feel much older. They have been healthy, which has not always been the case, and they all have taken a keen interest in school. Whereas last year Katie-Anne wanted to drop out of school after Kindergarten she loves 1st grade. Gracie of course loves school and probably always will. Evan has pre-K and once he got past the fun and games and settled in to school he also has developed a strong interest. This has made life much easier for us all but especially for Amy and trying to load the Texas Cadillac (Suburban) each morning. When they "want" to go it makes for a simpler morning routine.
I attached a youtube clip...Evan is a Star Wars addict and plays Wii Star Wars all of the time...he found this link.

I am also attaching a picture of the crew...

We hope to bring more current updates and feel free to send comments, questions and concerns to your local congressman....or to us if necessary.

...the south will rise again...

Long story...but here we go...
Since moving to Tucson it as been a transition for all of us. Amy started coaching the girl's soccer team at the high school and absolutely fell in love with the team.
Amy's Mountain View Mountain Lions were picked to finish 5th this year in the Southern Region. (Tucson) They not only won the Southern Region Championship but made it to the Arizona State Semi-Final game, losing in penalty kicks. The idea for the flag came from the lack of respect from Phoenix for the teams from Tucson...and, so you see, the south will rise again...and nearly knocked off all of the big guns.
Great season...tough loss...but a magical and phenomenal run.
And, now, some photos from our kids...
"all the single ladies, all the single ladies..."

Fashion has never looked so good-for so little. (I should be in advertising)

Mommy and Gracie time at the library. (yes, they CAN be quiet at times)

how can someone so innocent looking be up to such mischief?

no words can explain this one...rappers? hip hop? trouble?
Hope you enjoyed these...and to those that helped celebrate Amy's 35th, thank you.
And, for Claire-yes, we are living in Tucson. And Amanda, thanks for keeping up with the blog...and to the rest of you...Happy Valentines Day.

As the Cave turns...

Here are the kids at the cave - close and comfortable...

Katie-Anne was Star Student and we took Millie Moo to the Zoo...

...and we found our kids are actually turtles...

Evan is always our hip hop boy. He comes across as a bit Vanilla Ice meets Eminem meets The Muppets.

The girls have learned to ride lions. A pretty amazing feet capturing and riding a lion...but they are good.

This was my favorite Gracie picture of the week. Truth be told she was pouting...but a very cute shot...

Life in the Cave

Good morning and a continued happy and joyous new year.
I wanted to share some photos that were taking up all the memory on my phone.

I'm Free...I'm Free...now bring on the scooters, I need to jump something...

A little trip to Mexico? Heck no, but can you spot the babies?

Here are the movie stars...when do we return to Hollywood?

Here are the kids...in the cave, preparing to run amok in "the projects."

Evan and Gracie...of course, they can ham it up for the cameras...

They made cookies last weekend and "gave" them to golfers. The golfers could not resist and the kids made $13. Not bad for a days work and Baba's and Mommy's cookies.

Updated New Year...

Apparently all the exciting information I wrote and great pictures I included disappeared prior to publishing, so I will attempt to recreate the Happy New Year blog.

If you have not had the pleasure of reading Eric Carle's Dream Snow, this is our "Tree."

Katie-Anne was meant to be in the snow...she loves the cold...but loves the hot chocolate after more. (or the marshmallows...)

Evan, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (we hope)...

Fred, our little snowman. He was our best effort to date, and lasted the longest.
He had eyes of brocolli, a carrot nose and two arms made out of pine...poor Fred.

Sleigh rides, or better sled ride down our neighbors driveway...

Our annual Christmas Eve Elk - swear we see them every year on Christmas Eve.

Our white Christmas snow...our own dream snow.
As with the New Year, you never know what will happen. We never would have guessed we would be living in a cave in Tucson at the end of 2009, and will buckle up, hang on and enjoy the ride as we head into 2010...

And remember, January 7, 2010, Hook 'Em Horns...

Happy New Year, Hello 2010

Here it is again, the end of one year and the beginning of a new exciting year. The possibilities are endless and as with last year, you never know where the year will take you.

We spent Christmas in Ruidoso, and it was amazing having a true white Christmas. Fred was the Snowman we built, with broccoli eyes and a carrot noes, and some arms made out of pine...la la la la...

The snow was great, the kids could not wait to run out and play - and freeze - and wanted to make sure that Santa would have a clear path for landing.
