Game Day

Today was the first day of Fall little league youth soccer. Gracie scored a goal, and as she tells it she had to slide around the post to knock it home. Katie-Anne also had a game. Last year K-A might, for a minute, stay on the field. She was much more interested in snack time and sitting with mom and dad. Today...crazed. She ran all over the field and was kicking the ball/other team.

Her coach was amazed at what she did compared to her efforts last season. Very cool.

We also survived a long week. Lots of games at school. Lots of practices for the kids. Lots of late evenings. Though, for as busy as it was, we got to hang out tonight and eat some great enchiladas. Amy made red and green, and in case you wondered, go with green. The red was definitely the 5 alarm variety. Below you can see the fire truck that had to spray our burning mouths. (Maybe that is why everyone is going green these days)

We also watched the Perry kids today. The playground got a good workout. The 5 kids played outside for 4 hours...and would still be out playing if it had not become so cold and dark outside. The good news for them is they got to watch Amy's favorite all-time movie...

Yes, Chunk and the kids...Goonies...somewhat within our pirate theme. In fact, we are looking at going all pirate for Halloween. (Katie-Anne still does the best "What are you doing?")

Evan was the only Garelick kid not scared by the movie. He was probably playing tough around the older kids. I am sure we will see him soon with a bad dream...I guess we will have to go back to Winnie the Pooh...

Not too much else going on 'round here. More rain...cold temps...college football...

And, waiting for our pumpkins to emerge...seems like they ought to offer a sighting soon. Of course, thanks to Kim for giving us their pumpkin seeds.
