It is Aspenfest Weekend. The leaves are changing colors, the temperatures are dropping, and so too may be some precipitation. "All the leaves are brown, and the sky is gray..." or maybe the leaves are red, yellow, orange...really remarkable, actually. We took these from Cedar Creek after the Aspenfest Parade. The parade ushers in Fall, and it quite a treat. (or, with the ludicrous amount of candy they hauled in today, could replace trick or treating)
This picture is the kids running out to fill their bags with candy. Each float/police car/fire truck/etc. throws a handful of candy and "PINATA!"
The kids also rode a bear. (The price tag merely said, "priceless") He was cut, torched, and prepped on site. "Ride 'em, dude and dudettes."
A quick quote from Gracie as we were walking back to the car following the parade..."we've gone so far, I think we are in New York." (not quite, though it was a jaunt)
Then, after this very tender moment with mommy, she caused a bit of trouble. When Amy asked if she had done it, she simply said, "I am not answering you." (it starts at 4 yrs. old.)
Below, the three Amigos...
Here comes Santa Claus...(he is in the parade, promise)...
...and, laying in wait for the candy...and petting the puppy...
